Peering Policy

Open & Settlement-Free

RackGenius maintains an open, settlement-free peering policy. We typically peer with IX Route Servers and welcome bilateral requests where there is clear mutual benefit. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate any peering session at our sole discretion.

Requirements

  • Settlement-free only, with no paid peering arrangements
  • Public ASN with accurate PeeringDB & IRR/RPKI records
  • Consistent prefix advertisement across all sessions per region
  • 24/7/365 reachable NOC with authority to resolve incidents
  • Advance notification of maintenance affecting peering sessions
  • No default routes, no RFC1918, only legitimate prefixes

Termination Grounds

  • Non-compliance with stated requirements
  • Operational instability or security incidents
  • Strategic, technical, or business reasons

How to Request

  • ASN and PeeringDB entry
  • NOC, abuse, and security contact info
  • Proposed location(s), capacity, and session IPs
  • Traffic estimates (optional but helpful)

How to Peer

1

Check the basics

Run a public ASN with accurate PeeringDB and IRR/RPKI records, a 24/7 NOC, and consistent, RPKI-valid prefix advertisement.

2

Meet us on the fabric

Peer settlement-free at GRR-IX or DET-IX via the route servers or bilaterally. Our policy is open, so route-server peering needs no prior approval.

3

Send the request

Email our NOC with your ASN, PeeringDB entry, and proposed session details. We reply with session IPs and any max-prefix values.
